Philosophy in Review has published my review of Andrew Feenberg’s The Philosophy of Praxis: Marx, Lukács and the Frankfurt School. Feenberg’s unique position among later generation critical theorists in philosophy of technology is well-known. This volume, published with Verso in 2014, is a thoroughly revised of version of his 1986 volume Marx, Lukács and the Sources of Critical Theory (Oxford UP). It provides an excellent treatment of the roots of critical theory and clarifies how Feenberg’s work develops from and is integrated into this tradition.
